narrow minded indianifs

i used to think that though there is corruption, terrorism, scandals and what not in india but the new generation, is open minded and i had a hope that one day my darling, India, will gain its respect world wide. instead of singing the song of golden culture which India possessed long back , the people of india will show the world that they are capable of doing anything and they are not quitters but winners. but my hope got ruined when i had a chat with one of my classmate, who is very intelligent and of course an IITian.

he said: all the muslims should be killed and they dont have any right to live in this country
they took the land where RAMA born and now we Hindus should get that back by any means.

i said : when Aurangzaib demolished the temple it was that time and it was a big mistake but there is no need of repeating the mistake again. whats the point in fighting for the place of some one whose existence is itself a question. there is no proof that some one like RAMA was there and even if thats the truth , once some one raped your sister , so is that valid to rape his sister for revenge.
i said: if Firoz killed Raghu then Firoz is culprit not muslims.

he said : firoz is culprit and if someone comes in the way like Farukh , he will kill him too and if Ram comes in way , he will kill Ram too.

i said : thats what i am talking about but there is no point in killing Firoz's son or daughter if they are not coming in your way.

he said : but you know what Ram will never come in the way of Firoz but Farukh will surely come so we have to kill them all.

i was quite couldnt say anything.

then one day i was raoming with him and there was a shop where the shopkeeper had kept teddy's on stands and a framed picture of lord Ganesha at floor and my friend started using slang for the shopkeeper that why he is doing that and i was thinking what if it would not have been an IIT and what if the shopkeeper was a Muslim, what my friend would have done.

i was shocked with this interaction and i was hopeless for my country.

religion : a burden on society

People say that education can change the idea of a person and make him/her modern and realistic but I have found it wrong in many cases. Until the person gets scientific point of view in his life he can never be realistic. “ Scientific point of view “ written By J.B.S. Haldane explains that how can a scientific approach be a god’s eye because a communist can differentiate between a worker and a landlord, a priest can differentiate on the basis of caste and often can become partial but a scientific view will not differentiate between even a man and an earthworm.

My room mate Amar , has interest in reading , he has read the history of india, Discovery of India by J. L. Nehru, many books of Paulo Coelho, Divine Comedy by Dante and many more. He is an engineer like me but when he accidently touches the books or any piece of paper by his leg , he asks forgiveness from god. Like god only lives in the paper and not in his leg. He becomes non-vegetarian on Monday , Wednesday , Friday and Sunday and becomes vegetarian on remaining days for the sake of God.

This was just an example, we know lots of things but there is something to which perhaps we fear so much that we don’t want to take risk and we do rituals for that.

Non vegetarian in Hindu religion can eat chicken, mutton but can’t eat cow, again for the sake of god. Fine, no problem with that don’t eat what is prohibited but when other religion doesn’t prohibit it then why you want to force those people not to eat that. Because your religion has approved eating chicken and mutton and not cow so no one can eat it.

Think about it. We are educated and we have known about world. We have got Nobel prize , we have done wonders, achieved what and what not but then also we are carrying the burden of religion with us. Can not a person be a human by birth. No he has to be either Brahmin, harijan, muslim, hindu, parsi, yahudi and what not.

We don’t have money to buy clothes or bread , we have loans on our shoulders , we daily see people starving and we do nothing for them but on Solar eclipse we will do charity. On rituals we will feed priests. We have done nothing for us , Indians and we ask why we are not like Americans.

We don’t have to fight with anyone else but with our own religion which was previously a burden and has now become a disease.

hi

i want to say that what ever you feel the truth is you should speak and then you should not worry about the society because society has always obeyed tradition tradition is nothinhg but the repetative history.

it doesnt mean its totally wrong but neither its totally correct isnt it!!
